2025 Terms and Conditions of Enrolment
By completing the yearly enrolment form, all parents and carers agree to honour their commitment to Footlights Dance Studio, and abide by the terms and conditions as set out below:
- Fees are invoiced before the commencement of each term and MUST be paid within two weeks of each term to receive the 10% early payment discount.
- If your child’s fees are not paid within the first two weeks, you will be required to pay full fees (10% early payment discount is removed).
- If your child’s fees remain outstanding at the beginning of week five, he/she will be asked to sit out of class until full payment is received.
- Fees will not be refunded or reduced for missed lessons or cancellation of enrolment. Missed classes (due to public holiday/illness/injury/family holiday) may be ‘made up’ by attending another class at an age appropriate level, within the same school term. Make up lessons must be pre-arranged with the studio principal. Make up lessons cannot be carried over into the next term. In the case of a student missing their enrolled class/es for 4 or more consecutive weeks (ie: due to a broken limb) a pro rata rate may be arranged upon request.
- An annual administration fee of $40 per family will be added to your first invoice each year. This covers enrolment administration, music copyright and insurance. This fee will apply to all enrolling families regardfless of enrolment date.
- Fee payment options may be found on your invoice.
- Children who enroll part way through a term will pay fees on a pro rata basis.
- If your child doesn’t like the class you have chosen, you have the option to transfer to another class provided there is a vacancy. This must be pre-arranged with the studio principal. Refunds will not be offered should your child cancel part way through a term.
- All outstanding fees, for tuition/costumes, must be paid prior to productions/annual concerts or students will not be permitted to perform.
- Parents are responsible for maintaining up to date contact details, student media permission and medical conditions. Details can be updated via the Class Manager Parent Portal.
- Students must be suitably groomed for classes as per uniform guidelines (including neat hair tied back and a ballet bun for ballet). Studio uniform is compulsory. We do not expect children to be in correct uniform in their first week of joining the studio, however, by week 4 students are required to wear the correct studio uniform.
- No food or drink (with the exception of bottled water) will be permitted in the studio rooms, as this is a potential health and safety risk for those with allergies.
- Please notify your teacher should your child not be attending class.
- Students must be collected from the student waiting area (reception) promptly at the end of the lesson. Children will not be permitted to leave the studio for any reason without a parent or carer.
- When dancers leave the studio and proceed downstairs, they are out of our care. For safety, no student should wait or be asked to wait outside the building or downstairs to be collected.
- Parents are not permitted inside the studio whilst classes are in progress (with the exception of the Creative Kids 1 class). Parents/guardians will be invited to view certain classes in the form of scheduled viewing weeks.
- All students are invited to perform in our end of year production. Students who wish to perform will be required to purchase costumes and the necessary accessories prior to performing.
- The use of personal cameras and video cameras will not be permitted during parent viewing week or end of year production. Time will be allocated for parents to take photographs of their own child following completion of class during scheduled viewing weeks. Professional photos and a USB of the end of year production will be available for purchase. For more information regarding photography of minors, please refer to Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian - Fact Sheet 3. http://www.aflq.com.au/wp- content/uploads/2015/03/Photographing_Young_Children_Policy_Guidel ines.pdf
- Footlights Dance Studio will not be held liable for any loss or damage of property left at the studio. Please ensure your child’s items are clearly named.
- Whilst Footlights Dance Studio teachers are suitably experienced and qualified, and that all reasonable care is taken to ensure a safe dance environment; there is always a degree of risk (of strain or bodily injury) involved.
